The Pure Carrot Face Cream is a Nigerian product made by a skincare company, Glowhite Industry. Co Ltd. This face cream is a collection of their pure carrot kit that comes with face cream, body lotion, soap and serum.
At the time this article is written, the company’s website has become non-functional (I don’t know why some Nigerian skincare companies keep ignoring their websites. This is really not good for a skincare brand). However, they have an active Instagram page you can message them on to inquire about their skincare product.

The pure carrot face cream is a face cream that helps unclog the pores and prevent pimples from the face because of the beta-hydroxy (BHA) in its formulation. It brightens and gradually helps clear acne scars because of the safe lightening ingredients. It also makes the face smooth and wrinkle-free. However, how it works depends on the type you go for and what you’re looking to achieve. I reviewed and explained each of their types below.
Is Pure Carrot Face Cream a Bleaching Cream
No, pure care face cream is not a bleaching cream. There are no harmful bleaching ingredients in any of them that bleach the skin. Instead, they contain safe (melanin inhibitor) lightening ingredients like Kojic acid, Carrot oil, Arbutin, Clair Blanche, and Glutathione.

How Long Does It Take Pure Carrot Face Cream to Work?
You will start noticing a significant effect of pure carrot on your face from one to two weeks of using it. Although, this depends on how consistently you’re using it.

The Pure Carrot Flawless Moisture Surge Facial Cream is very suitable for dark skin tones. You can also get away with using the Pure Carrot Age Defying Face Cream too. Unlike the others, they both contain milder lightening ingredients that won’t make many changes to your dark skin colour.
However, even though they are both okay for dark skin tones, they are not face creams that you might want to use consistently in your skincare routine. If you use them for a very long time. Your chocolate skin tone might start getting slightly fair (if you don’t want that). So, I will advise you not to use it consistently after you treat your hyperpigmentation. Pure Carrot Age Defying Face Cream Review
As the name implies, this particular type of pure carrot specializes in promoting anti-effect on your skin. The anti-ageing ingredients are the Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide), and the pro-retinol, also known as retinyl palmitate, is a form of retinol that isn’t potent enough to irritate the skin.
Also, it brightens the skin because of the kojic acid and the niacinamide in it and likewise removes clogged pores on the skin, thanks to the BHA.
As someone with sensitive skin, I have once used this range. It was good in removing acne scars on my face, but you must give it time to work on your skin since it’s only kojic acid that the lightening ingredients in it. It helps clear my pore and prevents recurring pimples from appearing on my face. When I don’t want to do much on my skin, I simply wash my face with a simple cleanser (Cerave foaming cleanser) and put on this cream, and that will be all for the night.
It does not have SPF, so get a good SPF and wear it in the morning.

Pure Carrot Face Cream Balancing Toner Review
This is the highest range of all the four ranges as it contains whitening ingredients like glutathione, Alpha arbutin and Clair Blanche, which are known melanin inhibitors. They all work together to clear dark spots from the face and simultaneously give the face lighter shades. As you can see from the ingredient list, it does contain only SPF 15 which is not much considering the lightening ingredients in it, so please ensure you wear more good sunscreen in the morning. Or cover yourself from the sun.

The gold lightening range is a milder version of the balancing toner. It contains active lightening ingredients that lighten the skin. The presence of salicylic acid in it helps to unclog pores and smooth the face. Even though it contains SPF 15, that won’t be enough to protect your skin from sun damage, so endeavour to get sunscreen for extra sun protection.

According to the company, this range is great for dark or chocolate skin tones, so their complexion isn’t altered. However, in my opinion, the presence of glutathione and kojic acid can still make a dark skin tone who don’t want to change their skin colour lighter. So, I will advise you not to use it frequently. Use it sparely when you are done clearly with your hyperpigmentation or acne scars. Although it’s recommended for dark skin tones, any other skin type can likewise use it, especially if you don’t want a whitening effect like the balancing toner range.
The pro-retinol and vitamin A in it are both great for wrinkles, while the vitamin E and the almond oil in it are great for giving the skin moisture. It contains SPF 20, which is good but not enough for sun protection. I advise you to get additional sunscreen to protect you from the sun.

How to Use Pure Carrot Face Cream
No matter the type of Pure carrot face cream you’re going for, below is how to use it to achieve healthy skin.
- Wash your face first. Using this face cream with a simple face wash or cleanser is best.
- Please do not use it with a lightening face wash or cleanser. The face cream alone lightens the skin; using a lightening face soap or wash can stress the skin.
- Do not use it with a face wash or cleanser containing BHA. I noticed it irritates the skin, especially if you have sensitive skin.
- After washing your face, use a hydrating toner or serum on your face. The best will be one that contains hydraulic acid.
- Then, take a small amount of pure carrot face cream and dap on your damp face. Then rub it in.
- In the morning, use sunscreen. No need for sunscreen at night.
- If you are trying to treat acne scars, spot treat it by using a cotton bud or clean fingertip to dap it into the cream and dot it on the acne scars on your face to target the spots (illustrative image below)
- Leave it on for 30-40 minutes, then blend it into your skin later.
- As a dark-skin-toned person, if you have achieved your desired complexion or skin goals with this cream, instead of using it every day, use it thrice a week for maintenance.
